For most of its history naturists did not shave body or public hair. Maintaining a “natural” look was considered part of the naturist ideal. More recently however shaving and other forms of hair removal have become more popular among naturists. It is not uncommon now to see many if not most people in social naturist circles with some degree of body hair removed.
Despite the common misconception all naturists don’t remove any or all of their body and pubic hair. Hair removal is also not required to fit in at naturist venues or clothing optional beaches. Body and pubic hair removal is generally a personal and aesthetic preference. Some do express a spiritual dimension to their hair removal practice.
