Nudists lose fight to have campground expanded (via The Kingston Whig-Standard)

The owners of a nudist ranch in a rural part of Stone Mills Township are trying to decide their next move after a three-year legal battle ended Friday when the province’s planning appeal tribunal ruled against them.

Yvonne Gibson and Hector Gravelle launched their challenge after Stone Mills Township council in 2018 denied their request to have their 40-hectare Freedom Fields Naturist Ranch on Carroll Road rezoned to permit expansion of their clothing-optional campground.

That 4-3 council vote went against recommendations of township staff and a consultant’s report that indicated a campground on the site was permitted according to the official plans of the township and Lennox and Addington County and the provincial policy statements.
